Alparslan Masjid
Overview
The mosque is a work belonging to the Aydınoğlu Principality period, dating back to the 14th century. The masjid, which was largely built with spolia materials, was also made using bricks and cut stone. It has a square plan and a single dome. The outer part of the dome, which is accessed by muqarnas pendents, has an octagonal drum. The entrance on the north façade is inside a pointed arch. A semicircular arched window is placed over a door opening with a flat monolithic jamb and lintel, and a niche is placed on both sides. The five-faced mihrab niche protrudes slightly and there are windows with pointed arch pediments on both sides of the mihrab and on the east wall.
